Another famous person sighting

Sunday, December 13, 2009

On Friday, we were eating at a little Italian restaurant that offers a pretty darn good buffett for lunch. Sitting there at a table in the middle of the restaurant, we look outside to see a commotion. There happened to be a music video being filmed outside with the one and only Carrie Underwood.

As we left the restaurant, I snapped some pictures of the scene.

She's the tiny little blonde. Sorry, I only had my phone to take pictures. I normally carry my camera with me, but I happened to leave my purse back at the office.

Almost scared out of my pants by a man on a wire

Monday, November 23, 2009

This morning I get to work at 7:30 a.m., which is not unusual to me, and Since no one else was there I hadn't turned on the lights yet. Then I heard a loud bang on my window. It made me jump out of my chair. What could possibly have hit the window outside my cube? I'm on the 10th floor. I figured it was a bird or something, but when I looked out to see if there was a big smear on the window, I was surprised to see a man hanging out there. He was on one of those little wodden seats atached to some ropes swinging back and forth just cleaning the windows. It was an interesting start to my morning.

I'd post more, but I'm off to see New Moon. Bring on the half naked wolf pack!

The Snuggies got another one

Friday, November 13, 2009

In only a day, the Snuggie took another victim. They are kind of like velociraptors in that they split up and come at you from both sides. Poor Matt never had a chance.

Actually, Matt's just sporting a want-to-be Snuggie. It's a regular fleece blanket posing as that (in)famous blanket with sleeves. Maybe one day both the blanket and Matt will graduate to a real Snuggie. I'm hoping he'll be able to resist, but I think he might be wavering to the dark side.

There is still good in you, Matt. I know it.

The Snuggies are Taking Over

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Beware! They're multiplying! First there was one.

As Amber sat in her cube, she would wrap up snug in her stylish Snuggie. Notice the leopard spots? Then suddenly, another one showed up and attacked Mandy.

So now there are two Snuggies running rampant in the department. I think it's all a master plan for Snuggies to take over the world, but damn it...I will fight! I will not be seen in this backwards robe-like contraption. Granted, it sometimes gets cold in the office, but I will not let them win.

So you can raise your hands in the air and wave them around like you just don't care, I will not wear a Snuggie.

A Bathroom Visit and Autograph Seekers

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Today, after lunch at Oak Bar at The Hermitage Hotel, I had to go look. After making sure the coast was clear, all of us went in. Where you ask did I happen to go? Only one of the best bathrooms in the state. Nay...the country!

This green and black bathroom was voted the best bathroom in the country by an online vote, and since then the men's bathroom has been visited by thousands of guests - both men and women.
I have to say it was pretty fancy.

Another interesting thing I got to see today were several grown men standing on the other side of the street from the hotel waiting to get autographs. As the only five-star hotel in Nashville, lots of famous people stay there. With the CMA Awards in town, I'm sure there were several talented people spending some time at the hotel. So all day there were several men standing out there waiting. At first I thought they were paparazzi, but they didn't have cameras. I saw them when I got there at 7 a.m., when I went to lunch and when I left at about 6:30 p.m. There numbers grew a bit as the day went on, and some even brought their own props. I saw hats and guitars galore.

I guess I just don't understand this autograph seeking thing. It's just a signature. So to spend all day waiting to get a famous person to sign a piece of paper, a hat or a guitar just seemslike a waste to me, but I guess to each his own.

Spotted

Thursday, November 5, 2009

I almost missed today's post, which would result in me failing the 30 posts in 30 days challenge. Then I remembered the awesome picture I snapped at Starbucks the other day.

As I was waiting for my skinny vanilla latte one day last week, this young man came into the Starbucks dressed in a green warm-up track suit. Not only was the outfit a bit much, but I noticed he had one of the greatest haircuts known to man. No, it wasn't a mullet...it was a rat tail! Totally awesome!
