Don't these two look just perfect for each other?

After a couple years, they are finally getting married, and I'm so excited for my two friends. I was there in the beginning, and I like to think I even played a little part in their love story. All it took was an inadvertant text message and a declaration that he should "just ask her out already." From there they went from friends that hang out and flirt to dating and now to engaged and soon to married.

Since we're such homebodies, the Hubs and I hadn't hung out with them for awhile, but tonight we celebrated their engagement by going to dinner. Well, I see Mr. Fiancee almost everyday at work, but Soon-to-Be-Wife, I haven't seen in several months. There have been many a haircut since our last get together, and I'm not really sure why. It was such a good time. We went down memory lane and shared stories, and it just made me wonder why we waited so long to get together again. So I am making a pledge to be a better friend. I'm always wrapped up in all my stuff, but I need to remember that it's so much fun to hang out with friends. It's fun to make new memories and new stories.

So congrats again to my two friends. I can't wait to see you two finally getting hitched!

I'm here...I'm here...I haven't gone anywhere

It's been awhile since I last posted, and a lot has been going on. Actually, not really a whole lot, but I did endure a not-so-fun invasion of my area for testing purposes, a two-week hiatus from baby-making that happened to be during this month's fertile time, and the arrival of several babies to friends.

The first two were the not-so-fun ones, but the last one is actually kind of fun. I see pictures of my friends with their babies on Facebook and their blogs, and yes, I do get a tinge of jealousy. I also see that they are so happy. It reminds me of why we're going through this. So congrats to all my friends. We're hoping we're joining the parent club soon.

Strange Questions

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Today has been an odd one. As I prepare to go in for some super testing on my fertility, I have had to answer some odd questions that include the following:
-What is your religious affiliation?
-Do you have a living will or power of attorney?
-Are you currently smoking marijuana?
-Do you use cocaine or crack?
So the first two kind of freaked me out a bit, but the last two kind of made me laugh. I guess smoking marijuana, cocaine and crack can affect how you react to general anesthesia. Wait, does one smoke cocaine and crack? Shows you how much I know.
I, of course, said no, but do you thinking meth counts? So kidding!
